Dysport Cosmetic

GET STARTED WITH DYSPORT®

Take control of your frown lines between the eyebrows

Before you talk to your doctor about Dysport, learn what you can expect from the treatment process and get topics to discuss.

Everything you need to know before getting Dysport

Every time you frown, every time you show concern or even squint, you’re contracting muscles in your face. If you start to notice those frown lines between your eyebrows and they’re bothering you, then it might be worth asking your specialist if Dysport is right for you. Here are the most common questions patients have.

Scroll down for Important Safety Information and Medication Guide.

Dysport treatment process

What to expect*

When considering any kind of treatment, it’s important to understand as much as possible about the procedure. Here’s a general step-by-step guide to help you before, during and after your Dysport procedure.

  • 1. Consultation
Once you find your physician, discuss with your doctor your expectations and whether you have any health conditions or allergies that could interfere with your treatment. It’s your appointment, so don’t hesitate to ask your doctor questions.
  • 2. Treatment
Effective treatment requires one injection into each of five points between and above the eyebrows. Although office visit times vary, the procedure generally takes 10 to 20 minutes. Your healthcare professional will determine the exact placement of each injection to get results that are right for you.
  • 3. Post-treatment
Ask your doctor about any precautions you should take after treatment. Call your doctor or get medical help right away if you have any problems swallowing, speaking or breathing. If one or more of these happen, do not drive a car, operate machinery or do other dangerous activities. There should be little to no down time after your treatment. More than half of reported users† saw improvement 2-3 days after treatment,1-3‡ and results may last up to 4 months.2-4§ Results of repeat treatments may be comparable to your first use.
  • 4. Follow-up
To maintain your improvements, you should wait to discuss a treatment schedule with your doctor. As with any botulinum toxin product, you need to wait at least 90 days between treatments. Dysport is not habit-forming, and if you decide not to continue, you will gradually return to the look you had before starting treatment.

*Although the experience described is typical, the general routine at your doctor’s office may differ, and individual results may vary.

†User = Clinical trial subject.

‡A secondary endpoint based on Kaplan-Meier estimates of cumulative rate of time to onset of response. The median time to onset of response was 3 days in GL-1 (Dysport 55/105 [52%], Placebo 3/53 [6%] and GL-2 (Dysport 36/71 [51%], Placebo 9/71 [13%]), and 2 days in GL-3 (Dysport 110/200 [55%], Placebo 4/100 [4%]).1-3

§GL-1 and GL-3 evaluated subjects for at least 150 days following treatment. Based on investigator assessment, response was maintained for up to 4 months in both GL-1 (Dysport 24/105 [23%], Placebo 2/53 [4%]) and GL-3 (Dysport 58/200 [29%], Placebo 1/100 [1%]).2-4

GET Rewarded

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Dysport is a prescription injection for temporary improvement in the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults less than 65 years of age.

Important Safety Information

What is the most important information you should know about Dysport?

Spread of Toxin Effects: In some cases, the effects of Dysport and all botulinum toxin products may affect areas of the body away from the injection site. Symptoms can happen hours to weeks after injection and may include swallowing and breathing problems, loss of strength and muscle weakness all over the body, double vision, blurred vision and drooping eyelids, hoarseness or change or loss of voice, trouble saying words clearly, or loss of bladder control. Swallowing and breathing problems can be life threatening and there have been reports of death. You are at the highest risk if these problems are pre-existing before injection.

These effects could make it unsafe for you to drive a car, operate machinery, or do other dangerous activities.

Do not have Dysport treatment if you: are allergic to Dysport or any of its ingredients (see the end of the Medication Guide for a list of ingredients), are allergic to cow’s milk protein, had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product, such as Myobloc®, Botox®, or Xeomin®, have a skin infection at the planned injection site, under 18 years of age, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.

The dose of Dysport is not the same as the dose of any other botulinum toxin product and cannot be compared to the dose of any other product you may have used.

Tell your doctor about any swallowing or breathing difficulties and all your muscle or nerve conditions such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis [ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease], myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, which may increase the risk of serious side effects including difficulty swallowing and difficulty breathing.

Tell your doctor about all of your medical conditions, including if you have surgical changes to your face, very weak muscles in the treatment area, any abnormal facial change, injection site inflammation, droopy eyelids or sagging eyelid folds, deep facial scars, thick oily skin, wrinkles that can’t be smoothed by spreading them apart, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant or breastfeed.

Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins and herbal and other natural products. Using Dysport with certain other medicines may cause serious side effects. Do not start any new medicines while taking Dysport without talking to your doctor first.

Especially tell your doctor if you: have received any other botulinum toxin product, such as Myobloc® (rimabotulinumtoxinB), Botox® (onabotulinumtoxinA), or Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA), in the last four months or any in the past (be sure your doctor knows exactly which product you received, have recently received an antibiotic by injection, take muscle relaxants, take an allergy or cold medicine, or take a sleep medicine.

Common Side Effects
The most common side effects are nose and throat irritation, headache, injection site pain, injection site skin reaction, upper respiratory tract infection, eyelid swelling, eyelid drooping, sinus inflammation, and nausea.

Ask your doctor if Dysport is right for you.

You are encouraged to report negative side effects of prescription drugs to the FDA. Visit www.fda.gov/medwatch or call 1-800-FDA-1088.

One of the risks with using these products is unintentional injection into a blood vessel. The chances of this happening are very small, but if it does happen, the complications can be serious, and may be permanent. These complications, which have been reported for facial injections, can include vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, temporary scabs, or permanent scarring of the skin. If you have changes in your vision, signs of a stroke (including sudden difficulty speaking, numbness or weakness in your face, arms, or legs, difficulty walking, face drooping, severe headache, dizziness, or confusion), white appearance of the skin, or unusual pain during or shortly after treatment, you should notify your health care practitioner immediately.

As with all procedures that involve an injection through the skin, there is a risk of infection.

The safety and effectiveness of RADIESSE, RADIESSE (+), or BELOTERO BALANCE in parts of the face other than facial wrinkles and folds has not been established.

Do not use RADIESSE, RADIESSE (+), or BELOTERO BALANCE if you have a skin infection or inflammation until it has healed.

The microspheres in RADIESSE and RADIESSE (+) can be seen in X-rays and CT scans. It is very important that you tell your health care provider that you have had RADIESSE or RADIESSE (+) dermal filler.

If you have a history of herpes, you may experience a herpes breakout after treatment.

Injection in the back of the hand may result in temporary difficulty performing activities. RADIESSE may cause nodules, bumps, or lumps in the back of the hand and can last up to 1 year.

You should minimize strenuous activity and avoid extensive sun or heat exposure for about 24 hours after treatment and until any swelling or redness has resolved.

What should I tell my doctor before using RADIESSE, RADIESSE (+), or BELOTERO BALANCE?

Tell your health care provider if you are taking blood thinners or medicines that can interfere with the clotting of blood, such as aspirin or warfarin. These medicines might make it more likely that you will experience bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Tell your health care provider if you have any diseases, injuries or disabilities of the hand, if you have a history of forming large, raised scars, or if you have had any other skin treatments such as skin peels.

Before treatment with BELOTERO BALANCE, tell your doctor if you have frequent sore throats, or if you are on any immunosuppressive therapy.

These are not all of the possible side effects with RADIESSE, RADIESSE (+), or BELOTERO BALANCE. Merz collects information about adverse events seen with these products post-approval. These events are included in the RADIESSE, RADIESSE (+), and BELOTERO BALANCE Patient Information Guide based on an assessment of seriousness and potential causal relationship to the products. Please see the Patient Information Guides available at www.Radiesse.com and www.belotero.com for a list of these events. Tell your health care provider about any side effects that bother you or do not go away.

Pearl Fractional

What is the Pearl Fractional treatment?

Pearl Fractional is a fractional laser perfected for treating photodamaged skin in just one treatment. Pearl Fractional offers the best combination of patient experience and recovery time.

What does “fractional” mean? How does the Pearl Fractional work?

Fractional therapy describes a treatment that exposes only a fraction of the skin to the laser beam in a pattern of tiny dots. With Pearl Fractional, laser pulses place tiny holes in the skin. Columns of damaged tissue are selectively removed, leaving surrounding skin intact. After a treatment, the body’s own natural process creates new collagen improving the appearance of fine lines and aging skin.

  • Tiny holes enable safe treatment and a rapid recovery
  • Deep treatment provides results in a single session
  • Controlled energy means maximum results with greater patient comfort

How many treatments are recommended?

Most patients see significant improvement after just one treatment. Who is a candidate for Pearl Fractional? Patients with light-to-medium skin tones and skin imperfections due to aging and sun damage will benefit from a Pearl Fractional treatment. What areas of the face can be treated? Pearl Fractional can be used on the entire face and is uniquely effective in treating the delicate periorbital (around the eyes) and perioral (around the mouth) areas. These areas often show the first signs of aging and can be the most challenging to treat. How does a Pearl Fractional treatment feel? Most patients describe the treatment as a series of fast, hot pinches. A topical numbing cream is applied to the skin prior to treatment to alleviate discomfort. Practitioners may choose to augment topical creams with other medications based on patient need.

When will I see results? How soon can I wear make-up?

Many patients see improvement one week after treatment. Maximum results are visible in one to three months. Patients may apply make-up five days after treatment.

Are there any restrictions on my activity after a Pearl Fractional procedure?

After treatment, the skin looks sunburned and may be slightly swollen. Patients report little or no discomfort post-treatment. During post-care, patients apply ointment to the skin for four to five days and should limit sun exposure and wear protective clothing.

Can Pearl Fractional be part of a combination therapy?

Many patients have a Pearl Fractional treatment in combination with other existing cosmetic therapies. These include other Cutera laser and light procedures, such as Pearl®, Laser Genesis and LimeLight®. Discuss combination treatment options with your practitioner.

How does Pearl Fractional compare to other fractional laser treatments?
Pearl Fractional’s unique laser wavelength and its ability to deeply penetrate the skin, is perfectly balanced to dramatically improve the appearance of aging skin in a single treatment.

Pearl

What is the Pearl procedure?

The Pearl is a resurfacing laser that gently and safely treats signs of aging and damaged skin. The Pearl procedure reduces fine wrinkles with fewer treatments and less overall recovery than other technologies.

How does the Pearl treatment work?

A pattern of light pulses treats both the top layer and deeper layers of skin, providing long-term benefits with minimal downtime. As you heal, your skin will form a thin protective barrier that will slough around day 3 or 4 after the procedure. In a short time, patients will notice overall skin improvements – all from a 15 minute treatment with only 3 – 4 days of “social” downtime.

What is “social” downtime?

Downtime is the time spent recovering from a procedure. With “social” downtime, you can continue your normal daily activities. However, you may not wish to attend important social events because your face will appear pink/red for 3 – 4 days.

How does a Pearl treatment feel?

The Pearl treatment feels like a series of brief pinches. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 representing highest level of pain, most patients report the treatment feeling like a 2 or 3.

When will I see results?

How soon can I wear make-up after a Pearl treatment?
Results are noticeable by day 3 or 4 when the superficial tissue has peeled off, evealing healthy skin improvements. Make-up may be applied at this time.

Are there any restrictions on my activity after a Pearl treatment?

After treatment, the skin will look and feel mildly sunburned. Your practitioner will discuss post treatment care.

How many treatments are recommended?

Many patients may need only one treatment. However patients may require two treatments spaced approximately one month apart to achieve the desired results.

Can Pearl be part of a combination therapy treatment?

Many patients have a Pearl treatment in combination with other existing cosmetic therapies. These include other Cutera laser and light procedures, such as Laser Genesis and LimeLight. Discuss combination treatment options with your practitioner.

How does Pearl compare to other laser treatments?

Pearl offers an effective treatment without wound care and lengthy downtime seen with certain Erbium and CO2 laser procedures.

Who is a candidate for a Pearl treatment?

Patients with light to medium skin tones and mild to moderate sun damage are ideal candidates.

Toe Fungus & Warts

Laser Sheer West Edmonton Mall Laser Clinic

The problem of foot fungus and warts is often something that causes a tremendous amount of self-consciousness and embarrassment in people who have these conditions. Onychomycosis, or toenail fungus is more common than one would think, just over 10% of the population have it and approximately half of the population have had warts at one time or another in their lives.

Topical creams and oral medication have limited success and/or side effects particularly to the liver. By using our Cutera Laser Genesis system we are able to deliver large spot or targeted frequency lasers to the affected area to treat warts or Onychomycosis. Cutera’s Genesis system works by emitting a laser beam that penetrates through the nail plate and the nail bed to eradicate the fungus or mold underneath. This treatment is quickly, painless and is typically finished between

Toenail Fungus

15 – 20 minutes for a treatment. There are no adverse effects and like all of Cutera’s laser systems the procedure is non-surgical and non-invasive in nature.
