Neuromodulator: Dysport
Discover the Dysport Difference
Frown lines – a matter of expression
Glabellar lines, or “frown lines,” are vertical wrinkles on the forehead that appear between the eyebrows. This is not totally related to the aging process. Because frown lines are created by facial expressions and movement. (for example during the frowning and squinting), they can actually start to appear at a younger age. The appearance of the lines can become worse as the collagen in that area of the forehead breaks down.
There are several factors, in addition to facial expression, that can cause or worsen the appearance of frown lines including:
Sun Exposure – UV light in the sun can damage collagen
Aging – can create a loosening of collagen fibers and increased skin elasticity
Smoking – can reduce the amount of new collagen produced
-
Dysport is an injection used to temporarily improve the look of your moderate to severe frownlines without changing the look of your whole face. The untreated facial muscles still work normally, allowing you to freely show natural facial expressions, such as smiling, in untreated areas.
-
Dysport blocks the signal from the nerve to the treated muscle, which temporarily reduces movement of certain upper facial muscles that cause wrinkles. You should not be treated with Dysport more frequently than every 90 days.
Treatment with Dysport generally takes just 10 to 20 minutes.
-
With just 1 treatment, Dysport will temporarily erase your frown lines by blocking the signal from the nerve to the muscles. By doing this, Dysport will relax the muscles that cause the deep lines and wrinkles on the forehead.
-
Some patients see results as soon as 24 hours with the average time for full results being 3 days.
-
The improvement seen with Dysport are only temporary, You may want to book your next appointment about 12 weeks after your treatment if needed. Your doctor will be able to tell you how often you can get injections of Dysport.
Neuromodulator: BOTOX Cosmetic®
Botox Cosmetic Work
BOTOX Cosmetic® is the only product of its kind that is directed at the facial muscles that cause lines and wrinkles. It targets what are known as dynamic wrinkles, which are caused by repeated muscular contractions, such as frowning and squinting. BOTOX Cosmetic®, an injectable treatment derived from a purified protein, works by relaxing the muscles that cause these dynamic wrinkles, giving your face a more relaxed and refreshed appearance. Best of all, regular use of this simple treatment will soften expression lines and help to “stop the clock” on the development or further deepening of lines. In addition, treatment is so quick and easy that you can often have it done over lunch.
The BOTOX Cosmetic® Procedure BOTOX Cosmetic® injections are performed without anesthesia because they are virtually painless. Only a very small sting is felt when the injections are made. The effects are not permanent and may need to be repeated two to three times per year to retain the effects. Research has suggested, however, that long-term use of the injections leads to a longer duration of each treatment’s effect. Patients over the age of 65 may not experience such dramatic results. BOTOX Cosmetic® is only useful in treating expression lines and cannot be used to repair sagging skin caused by aging.
A History of Success
While you may only know BOTOX Cosmetic® as a wrinkle treatment, it has actually been in use for over 18 years for the effective treatment of a range of medical conditions. In fact, it’s been approved for medical use in Canada and in more than 75 countries for 20 different applications. Today, BOTOX Cosmetic® has become the most popular doctor-administered cosmetic treatment in North America with an estimated three million treatments performed annually.
Interestingly enough, the highest user of BOTOX® in British Columbia is BC’s Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, utilizing the treatment for a variety of medical conditions in children.
Where can BOTOX Cosmetic® be used?
The most common treatment areas include the frown lines, between the eyebrows, the horizontal lines that run across the forehead, and the crow’s feet around the outer eyes.

It’s the perfect solution for clients looking to restore structure, definition, and firmness—especially in the mid and lower face.
-
Unlike traditional fillers, Radiesse uses calcium-based microspheres to:
Create instant volume and lift

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
PRP Skin Rejuvenation and Hair Restoration Injections.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a regenerative treatment that uses your own blood to accelerate healing, reduce inflammation, and stimulate tissue repair. PRP has become a popular and versatile option for addressing musculoskeletal injuries, hair loss, and enhancing cosmetic procedures—all with minimal risk and natural-looking results.
Because PRP is created from your own cells, it is safe, well-tolerated, and can be used alone or combined with other treatments to improve outcomes.
What Is Platelet-Rich Plasma?
Platelet-rich plasma is made from two components of your blood:
Plasma – the liquid portion
Platelets – specialized blood cells that contain powerful growth factors
These growth factors play a key role in healing, tissue regeneration, and cell repair. PRP is created by drawing a small sample of your blood and placing it into a centrifuge, which concentrates the platelets to create a highly potent regenerative solution.
-
A small sample of your blood is processed to concentrate the platelets, which contain powerful growth factors. The PRP is then injected into areas of thinning hair to stimulate dormant follicles, improve blood supply, and support new, healthier hair growth.
-
PRP may help:
Reduce hair shedding
Increase hair thickness and density
Stimulate new hair growth
Improve overall scalp health
Enhance results after a hair transplant
-
PRP is ideal for men and women experiencing early to moderate hair thinning or pattern hair loss. It can also benefit those wanting to maintain or enhance hair transplant results.
-
Yes. PRP is considered low risk because it uses your own blood. Mild soreness, swelling, or redness may occur at the injection site and typically resolves quickly.
Rare side effects may include:
Minor bleeding
Infection
Temporary scalp tenderness
Your provider will discuss all risks before treatment.
-
If you’re noticing thinning hair or a decrease in hair density, PRP may be an effective, natural way to stimulate growth and support healthier, fuller-looking hair. A consultation can determine if you’re a suitable candidate.

Fortunately, new treatment options have brought real relief. The discovery of Botulinum Toxin A (BOTOX®) has been a breakthrough in the management of hyperhidrosis, helping to safely and effectively reduce excessive sweating.

Migraines
What is a Chronic Migraine?
Chronic migraine is a neurological condition characterized by headaches occurring 15 or more days per month, with at least 8 of those days involving migraine features such as throbbing pain, nausea, light sensitivity, or sound sensitivity. For many people, chronic migraine can significantly disrupt daily life, impacting work, relationships, and overall well-being.
Botox for migraines is administered through a series of small injections in specific areas of the head, neck, and shoulders. With consistent treatments, many patients experience fewer migraine days and a noticeable improvement in quality of life.

Injectables FAQ
-
A neuromodulator is a type of injectable treatment that temporarily relaxes targeted facial muscles to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The most common neuromodulators used in aesthetics include Botox® and Dysport®.
These treatments work by blocking nerve signals to the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles—like frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead creases. As the muscle activity is reduced, the skin appears smoother and more refreshed, while still allowing for natural movement when injected precisely.
Neuromodulators are a non-surgical, fast, and effective way to reduce visible signs of aging and are often used preventatively as well.
-
Muscle relaxers generally last between 3–4 months, while dermal fillers can last anywhere from 6–18 months depending on the product used. Results and longevity vary for each individual.
-
Not at Laser Sheer. Our expert injectors prioritize natural-looking results and customize every treatment based on your goals.
-
Most injectable treatments have minimal downtime. You may experience some swelling or bruising that fades quickly.
-
Muscle relaxer do just that: they relax the muscles that cause wrinkles, while fillers restore lost volume or contour facial features.
